30 years ago, a pastor’s heart broke after seeing the despair of young men’s lives on the streets… He decided to do something about it, learn all he can, and built a program that can truly help.

To qualify for Hope Now’s Job Readiness Program, you must be a male between the ages of 16-39, and meet (1) of the following criteria:

• Be a gang member
• Have an arrest record
• Be a high school drop out

I heard about Hope Now through a friend who told me he knew of a place that can get guys with felonies jobs. One week after finishing the program, I was offered a job at Fresno Plumbing. I am thankful to God for opening the hearts of the staff at Hope Now so that they could help me.

Classes

In addition to helping clients obtain Social Security Cards and IDs as needed, we offer the following classes:

  • Anger Recognition & Release
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Substance Abuse
  • Job Search and Success
  • Finance
  • DMV – Drivers License Test preparation and training
Graduation Requirements

 

To graduate the Hope Now For Youth program and begin actively working with the job developers to gain employment, a client must:

  • Demonstrate good attendance
  • Complete all six classes
  • Have SS Card
  • Have I.D.
  • Pass a drug test (done in house)
  • Return clients are assessed on an individual bases by Hope Now counselors and may be required to take some/all classes again
  • Other requirements remain the same

Hope Now Partners with dozens of local businesses to assist with job placement to fill all kinds of needs and openings.

We strive to provide at least one odd job to every young man in Hope Now’s job-readiness program. Let us know if you have an add job at your home or place of business. Every one is a win-win!

  • Provide hires with basic training relating to appearance and attitude.
  • Maintain a caring and helping relationship with hires during the term of employment; minimizing any risk of failure.
  • Remains available to you for any assistance needed upon request to ensure hires are as productive at work.
  • Provide additional referrals for employment.

  • Pay Hope Now hires a fair wage and give raises or promotions as earned.
  • Look to assist with special training in areas of timeliness, the handling of money, and more… recognizing the troubled background of Hope Now hires.
  • Allow occasional visits by Hope Now staff to check on the Hope Now hire’s progress. Hope Now counselors will always check in at the office prior to visiting the employee.
  • Notify Hope Now if the work or attitude of the employee is unsatisfactory, recognizing our willingness to assist with the problem.
